Why Investing In Safety Signage Is A Must

We wish we could tell you the end of the pandemic is near. But, of course, the Synergy Merchants team isn’t made up of medical experts. We, just like most other people, continue to follow guidelines presented to us by those with expertise in the medical field. As we continue to contend with the coronavirus pandemic, we agree that it’s important to keep our hands clean, practice social distancing and wear masks when necessary.

As a business owner, it’s vital that you promote the safety measures being taken by your company. In today’s world, consumers are especially concerned about their health when they are out in public. Ensuring that your place of business is equipped with highly-visible safety signage will go a long way in securing long-term support of your brand.

What type of signage should be visible in your store?

Let’s begin with social distancing wall mounts. These signs should make clear that you are requesting customers to keep at least two metres apart. As we all should be well aware, the spread of the coronavirus happens when water droplets from our noses and mouths find their ways to the noses and mouths of others. The further people are kept apart, the safer they are.

Your store’s signage should also include floor markers that are strategically placed near your checkout counters. This will ensure that people maintain their distances from others while waiting to pay for their purchases. Again, at least two metres apart is the recommendation.

Place signs inside and outside of your store.

Your visiting customers should be well aware of the regulations your store is following in order to protect them. Therefore, be sure that there are clearly-visible signs outside of your store so they can be read before entering. Many establishments are following mask-wearing guidelines. By insisting upon masks being worn in your store, you will provide further precautions against the spreading of water droplets from one person to another.

The signs located outside of your store should also inform customers if you have a policy about store capacity. Many places of business only allow a limited number of visitors inside at any given time. As a result, line ups form outside of the store, comprised of individuals awaiting their turns to enter. If you decide to adopt this policy, make sure all visitors are aware of it. That way, you’ll avoid people turning away instead of waiting in line.

Are hand sanitizer and free masks available at your place of business?

If so, be sure to place signage up that will answer this question. Some people don’t walk with masks. They also may not have hand sanitizer handy. It’s up to you to ensure that everyone who enters the front doors of your store has access to hand sanitizer and a mask before shopping. Place signs up that show where these necessities can be located.
